Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya, Udgir was established by Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, registered office at Udgir in June 2001. The college has been granted the permission from the government of Maharashtra on self-financed basis, catering to educational needs through Nine UG programs, Eight P.G. Programme and Two Ph. D. programmes. The college has been well-known for its high academic standards, quality education, professional programmes and value based education for over two decade. The college has implemented the Choice Based Credit System with semester as per the directives of affiliating university to all UG and PG programmes and conducts regular unit tests on every Saturday.
The college has received the Best College award in NSS from the Government of Maharashtra and Prof., Amar Tandale was awarded Best NSS Programme officer from the Government of Maharashtra. In 2020, the college introduced four B.Voc. degree programmes in software development, e-commerce and Digital Marketing, Media and Entertainment and Medical Laboratory Technology. One certificate course approved by affiliating university in French Language and successfully runs five add-on courses every year.

The Swami Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Udgir was established in 2001 under the aegis of Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Prasarak Mandal and affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded.
The Primary intention for establishing the college was to open the doors of higher education to the economically weaker, upstarts, SC/ST/OBC, and SBC students of Udgir city.
The college was started initially with 19 students and a few teachers; now, more than 2000 students are getting a quality education.
In its short 22 years, the college has established nine undergraduate, eight post-graduate, and two Ph. D. programs to empower the youth.
To spread higher education in the educationally backward area of Udgir city and surrounding areas of the college in tune with the education policy of the affiliated university and well supported by the Government of Maharashtra.
The college has introduced professional and Job Oriented programs at UG and PG levels with the CBCS examination pattern recently implemented by the university.
All the UG and PG programs with revised curricula offer good opportunities for the students to develop hidden skills and their overall personalities.
The programs affiliated with the university are tailor-made for the market and commercial houses. The students joining the programs are getting exciting experiences of learning based on practica1and project based. The college is doing its best to develop a close interface with IT industries to make available ready to employ qualified students with optimum communication and technological knowledge and skills. The college has set an exceptional standard of the teaching-learning process for other colleges under the jurisdiction of the affiliating university.
The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and well-equipped computer Laboratories. The library reflexives ambiance of stocked with books, Journals/ Magazines, e-books, and e-journals for the students and the teachers. The college is committed to making students conscious of their social responsibility through outreach programs organized by NSS to enhance students’ social awareness and sensitivity toward the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of society.
